SCHUYLKILL RIVER

A multi-faceted document of Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River and the spaces and ideas that converge in its flow. The Schuylkill River is a place where gay lovers meet, where people mourn the loss of their youth, where Canadian geese live and catfish die. There is Undine, the water nymph, still alive after centuries of inspiring poets’ fantasies and stirring up an array of feelings. There is Grays Ferry and Kelly Drive, and the tormented history of the Kelly family. There are hidden poisons and secret fish….This show is as unpredictable as the Schuylkill, a Dutch name for “the water canal that is hiding.”
