Using visual explorations and personal histories the, American Street project documents the evolution and rebirth of an old, industrial, American city street and it’s community. The American Street neighborhood in Philadelphia is representative of many faded streets in the older urban areas in the United States. American Street encourages viewers to reflect on larger issues – the history of immigration in Philadelphia, the relationship of this neighborhood to other industrial neighborhoods across America, and what the story says about American Society in general.
