Termite TV is proud to have our video work be included in the opening of No Arena: Making A Movement, a new exhibition that covers the 2.5-year struggle of everyday people organizing against displacement and the transformative power of community organizing.
The opening reception for this exhibition and a panel discussion will take place at Asian Arts Initiative on Tuesday, March 31, 6-8 PM.
The exhibition highlights a decentralized grassroots movement that still holds lessons and hope for the immense challenges facing our communities.
No Arena: Making A Movement celebrates how people across the city came together for community-led futures and against the proposed 76 Place arena, which would have been built right next to Chinatown. Through archival materials, audio installations, first-hand accounts of key moments, and insight into the strategies that propelled the movement, the exhibition creates a living history of No Arena that reflects the messiness and vitality of organizing and honors the thousands of supporters who built community power to defend our city against greedy billionaires.
The exhibition runs from March 31 – July 11, 2026. Through our Places of Power project, Termite TV has documented and live-streamed community meetings, rallies and gatherings of the No Arena movement since 2022.Â
After opening night, AAI’s programming around the exhibition will offer a platform for continued organizing and archiving.
