Wednesday, September 22, 1999 - Tour in van of Sitka with Phil and 3 Pacific High folks Jerrik, Gary and Marcia. Meeting with Ellen, Mary, Phil, Tina, Brant to discuss plans with students. Potluck at Teen Center. Screen "Crime and Punishment Pt 1." Rain.
Thursday, September 23, 1999 - Present Termite TV to Sitka High and Pacific High Classes. Show clips, discuss ideas for "Age" show. Lunch with Ellen and Spencer. Anula presents "Kamaka'eha" at UniversityÕs art appreciation class.
Friday, September, 24, 1999 - Raven Radio 90.1 FM (community radio) D & C interviewed by Steve Wills(?). Meet Alice. M & A on "Straight, no chaser," Phil's jazz show on Raven. D & C work with Mt. Edgecumb High drama students on improvisational scenes dealing with "age." Meet Ellen at P Bar (Pioneer Bar).
Saturday, September 25, 1999 - Life Stories videotaping, interactive installation at Kettleson Library. dinner at Mad Greek Restaurant. Rain.
Sunday, September 26, 1999 - Beautiful and sunny. Walk through trail with totem poles and dead salmon with Ellen, Mary, Lexi(?),Cari (?) and Mary's two dogs Taiga and Karma. Spencer takes us all out on Snorkel his diving boat, to an island.
Monday, September 27, 1999 - Workshop with Sitka High Students. Draw Animations. M & A shoot. D & C log tapes, clean kitchen.Stop by at White Elephant Thrift Store. Not too rainy.
Tuesday, September 28, 1999 - Sitka High: animations (apple rotting, dancing, snowboarder, pig) and field shoots (self-interviews, Pioneer Home, nature); Pacific High: discuss and record issues. D & C: Humpbacks and seals at Whale Park, seagulls and dying salmon at Indian River. M & A hike up mountain, fear of bears at dusk, singing. Editing.
Wednesday, September 29, 1999 - Dorothea begins editing Sitka life stories show. Work on Rockefeller Fellowship application. M & D work with United Forces (a loose, cross-school teen organization.) Dinner at Mi Ranchita with Ellen and Spencer.
Thursday, September 30, 1999 - Last workshop with Sitka High video class. Fish processing plant. Tours with Pacific High class. Lunch with Mary at Mojo's Café. Editing. Mickey Blue Eyes at the Coliseum movie house.
Friday, October 1, 1999 - Video Alice at Raven Radio dj-ing her polka/tango/reggae/etc. show. Chats about federal regulation of subsistence fishing, Baha'i religion. Editing. Mt. Edgecumbe Drama improvs - many takes of scene with father, daughter, older daughter. Drive up saw mill creek road at dusk - demolishing mill, fires at mill, dogs running alongside cars, Mt. Edgecumbe student hitchhiker.
Saturday, October 2, 1999 - Life story with Spencer. Kettleson library editing set-up, couple more life stories (Bob, Kate). D editing Sitka Life Stories show. Steve Soenksen asks us to videotape at the YABAH construction site.
Sunday, October 3, 1999 - D & C edit Sitka show. M & A visit fish hatchery. Screening at Kettleson Library of just about finished Sitka show and Money. Very nice, small crowd.
Monday, October 4, 1999 - Last day in Sitka. Screen animations and part of show to Sitka and Pacific High. Video Mary and quilting. Meeting re: itinerary and possibility of bus not working. Potluck at Ellen's with lots of people. Jerrick gives us some of his clothes as parting gifts. Packing for plane.
