Termite TV, in collaboration with youth participants from the Asian Arts Initiative’s Youth Arts Workshop -Tien Duong, Barbara Jerome, and Michael Zhao – presents a new video exploring the variety of lives that cross paths in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. Residents share their passions, dreams and philosophies and the only question asked of them is “Will you tell us your life story in five minutes?”

Audience members contribute to the media mix.

Don’t just soak up TV – recycle, critique, parody and subvert it! Termite TV’s Michael Kuetemeyerand Anula Shetty will lead a workshop on creating videos using appropriated imagery from television and mainstream media. No experience necessary – participants are encouraged to bring TV footage on VHS or DV tapes. This event is part of the Illegal Art Extravaganza sponsored by Media Tank, Nexus Gallery and Prince Music Theater.
