{"id":25391,"date":"2026-05-04T17:50:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T21:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/termite.org\/mound\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=25391"},"modified":"2026-05-04T17:50:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T21:50:11","slug":"philly-tech-week-places-of-power","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/termite.org\/mound\/event\/philly-tech-week-places-of-power\/","title":{"rendered":"Philly Tech Week &#8211; Places of Power"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Termite TV\u2019s community-based \u201cPlaces of Power\u201d Augmented Reality \/ VR exhibition will be on view at Studio 1, Cherry Street Pier from May 1 to May 30, 2026. <strong>Join us on Thursday, May 7, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of Philly Tech Week. <\/strong>\u201cPlaces of Power\u201d aims to inspire participatory, community-driven, technology-enabled media arts production in Philadelphia communities facing cultural erasure, strengthening community bonds, prompting intergenerational sharing, and preserving stories and memories among the city\u2019s underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>Through a process of co-creation, Termite TV artists lead workshops in visual storytelling, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and 3D Photogrammetry. Using these emerging media tools allows participants to create immersive works and experiences that amplify the sense of memory, kinship, connection and empathy.
