SUMMARY:Inciting the Body Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Continuing our Understories Workshop series\, this workshop will focus on awakening\, enlivening\, and thanking the body for the many ways it supports and moves us. The goal is for everyone to be in a deep state of observing their bodies and how they are always in dialogue with others\, and the environment around them. \n**This workshop is open to individuals of any and all movement experience\, notebooks or writing materials are highly encouraged. \nThe class will focus on gently reconnecting with our bodies through a sensory meditation\, exploring how our senses engage with ourselves and the environment. Participants will be guided through a meditation that encourages self-inquiry: How is our body feeling? How does it want to move\, or remain still? We will explore sensations such as scent\, or how our eyes feel when we deeply direct our attention to how they move. \nLed by Chloe Marie – RSVP Here

DESCRIPTION:Termite TV Collective is excited to announce the print version of our Termite TV Toolkit: How to Make a Termite Show. \nThe Toolkit is meant for teachers and creative facilitators interested in integrating the Termite model of making thematic 30-minute\, multivocal shows in which multiple creators uniquely interpret one central theme. into their curriculum. \nTermite shows in the past have reflected on themes as malleable as water\, consumerism\, habits\, the war on terror\, and others. Show themes are designed to be spacious enough for artists to interpret them uniquely as a means of fostering creative dialogue around pressing social issues. Through individual expression radiating out from common themes\, Termite contributors co-create space for idea sharing and collective world-building. \nWe are interested in hosting this toolkit at your local library\, independent bookstores\, classrooms\, media institutions\, community organizing spaces and creative projects who could benefit from an outlined documented process of video and exhibit making that we like to call ‘video jazz.’ \nWe invite you to join us for the release of our Termite TV Toolkit on Friday\, December 6th from 6-8:00p : we’ll have copies available for sale and a communal packing station where we’ll pack\, stamp\, and sort copies to send out to the community. \nTo Order: \nIf you’re interested in a hard copy\, fill out our pre-order form for a copy for $10 and $5 shipping. SUMMARY:Amplifying the Undercurrent: Poetry & Essence Making
DESCRIPTION:This workshop was a guided experimentation  on the process of essence-making utilizing flowers and the natural environment — and poetry led by Dominique Matti. \nA flower essence is an energetic medicine intended to replicate a portion of the essential nature of a plant in a clear bowl of water. \nWhat is the essence of a fire pit? What is the essence of a view of the bridge or the breeze over the water? \nThe result were  physical essences that participants  both kept & shared\, and poetry on the various experiences participants have with what populates the immediate environment with inspiration from Black women poets. \n \n \n
